Busbar Manufacturing — From Melt to Finished Profile

Copper busbar upward continuous casting — production line

Copper Busbar Manufacturing

Copper busbars are the primary current-carrying conductor in power distribution equipment — switchgear, busbars, transformer connections, battery packs, and data center power rails. The electrical performance of the busbar is directly determined by the copper purity and the internal structure of the material.

Mivo's upward continuous casting process produces oxygen-free copper flat bar profiles with ≥99.95% Cu purity and a column-grain internal structure. This combination delivers lower resistivity, higher current density capability, and better conductivity than conventionally cast or extruded material.

Key Benefits

  • Oxygen-free copper (≥99.95% Cu) for minimum resistivity
  • Continuous casting eliminates porosity and segregation
  • Custom cross-section for your busbar standard
  • Reduced scrap rate vs. extrusion or rolling routes
  • Patented crystallizer delivers double the speed of standard designs

Target Industries

  • Power distribution & switchgear OEMs
  • EV and energy storage manufacturers
  • Data center infrastructure
  • Railway and traction systems
