Technology
Quality Control
Inline monitoring, offline testing, and documentation for every production run. Quality data is attached to every shipment.
Inline Process Monitoring
Casting speed control
Closed-loop speed control maintains the setpoint continuously. Any deviation triggers an alarm before the profile exits the cooling zone.
Melt temperature logging
Thermocouple array in furnace and tundish. Temperature is logged continuously and included in the production record for each coil or bundle.
Cooling water flow monitoring
Flow meters and temperature sensors on all cooling circuits. Blockage or flow drop triggers line stop.
Dimensional monitoring
Cross-section dimensions are monitored downstream of the traction rolls. Out-of-tolerance profiles are flagged for cut-out.
Offline Testing
| Test | Method | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical conductivity | IACS % by eddy-current probe | Every coil / bundle |
| Chemical composition | ICP-OES spectrometry | Each melt charge |
| Tensile strength & elongation | Universal testing machine | Batch sampling |
| Surface roughness | Profilometer Ra measurement | Shift start + random |
| Cross-section dimensions | Micrometer / CMM | Every coil end |
| Internal structure | Metallographic cross-section | Qualification / change |
Traceability
Every shipment is accompanied by a material test report (MTR) covering chemical composition, mechanical properties, conductivity, and dimensional data. Mivo's production system maintains batch traceability from raw material lot to finished coil, allowing any quality issue to be traced back to the originating furnace charge and cast conditions.
