What This Product Is

The assembly works with a graphite die and protective sleeve at the casting interface. Cooling through the crystallizer removes heat while the solidifying copper rod is withdrawn upward under the line's agreed operating sequence.

Copper rod from this process is feedstock for downstream wire drawing, rolling, or other processing. It should not be described as finished copper wire.

In copper rod upcasting, the terms crystallizer and cooler may be used for the water-cooled assembly surrounding the casting interface. The graphite die defines the cast rod section, while the protective sleeve and matched interfaces form part of the local assembly arrangement.

These parts are related but are not automatically interchangeable between machines. The approved supply list should state whether the order includes only the water-cooled assembly or also includes graphite dies, protective sleeves, connection parts, and recommended spares.

New Upcast Project

Review starts from the target rod diameter, feed material, output target, strand arrangement, furnace and coiling scope, workshop layout, local power supply, cooling-water conditions, and required service boundary.

Retrofit Review

A retrofit requires both the existing-machine interfaces and the intended production change. Feasibility, included modifications, performance conditions, and acceptance responsibilities are agreed before manufacture.
